Dorothy Goldeen is pleased to consult with both seasoned and novice collectors in acquiring fine art. Areas of expertise include modern and contemporary painting and sculpture; prints and drawings; classical and contemporary photography; and new media/video. Consulting ranges from the acquisition of one unique piece to the development of an entire collection over a period of years. The process involves education and exposure to an international array of artists, galleries and museums at the highest level.

The Journey
Collecting art is a magnificent journey. As on all journeys, itinerary is key. Dorothy Goldeen's knowledge and accessibility to the most significant art resources assures clients of effective results in their collecting and an insider's view of the art world. A specific program is developed for each client based on their needs and areas of interest. Unexpected opportunities and new revelations are part of the plan.

The Criteria
The criteria for selecting artworks is based upon three factors beginning with the client's aesthetic preferences. These preferences may already be defined, yearn to be refined or need to be established.

The second criteria is budget. While intriguing work is available in all price ranges, from Picasso to emerging artists, setting the budget helps to create focus.

The third criteria is the space available to accommodate the artwork. Whether the piece will go inside or outside, upstairs or downstairs, or just because you love it, placement and installation are an important consideration. In addition, work is always evaluated based on quality, condition, rarity and historical significance.
