Are we in Venice or what? Meet my fabulous taxi driver!

Hello Venezia!   Arrival by water taxi is always the most exhilarating way to enter Venice, especially after a 14 hour flight from Los Angeles via Zurich.  A cruise up the Grand Canal reveals the graceful palazzi bedecked with banners announcing the exhibitions around the city.  In the fading light, the glorious past is celebrated along with the promise of fulfilling adventure ahead, not to mention great pasta!  Tomorrow is an early start.  Ciao!

ON THE ROAD: VENICE & BASEL

Miao Xiaochun at the Chinese Pavilion, Venice Biennale

I’m especially interested to see the Chinese Pavilion. Wang Chunchen, head of the curatorial research team at the Central Academy of Fine Arts Museum in Beijing is the curator of the Chinese pavilion. He is also the adjunct curator at the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum in Michigan, reportedly the first China-based curator hired by an American art museum.
